5-Day Course Overview

Day 1: Foundations of Floristry

• Welcome, course layout, and introductions
• What it means to be a modern, sustainable florist
• Flower sourcing: local, wholesale, seasonal buying
• Flower care and conditioning
• Creating a hand-tied bouquet
• Wrapping with sustainability in mind
• Creating a flower crown and hair comb

Day 2: Floristry Design Principles & Colour

• Working with colour palettes
• Floral design theory: structure, proportion, and texture
• Learning to build floral recipes
• Exploring vessels: compote bowls, vases, and mechanics
• Making a foam-free compote bowl design
• Photographing and styling your designs

Day 3: Arrangements for Events

• Flower meadows (low, table-runner style)
• Large urn arrangement 
• Styling table centrepieces
• Pairing florals with props, candles, and tableware

Day 4: Weddings & Celebrations

• Wedding planning: initial enquiry to design
• Seasonality and sourcing for weddings
• Bridal bouquet (with ribboning techniques)
• Bridesmaid bouquet and buttonholes/corsages
• Creating a mock wedding proposal 

Day 5: Business & Blooming Forward

• How to price your work confidently
• Understanding your brand voice and aesthetic
• Building a starter portfolio
• Instagram and photography: showing your work beautifully
• Practical business advice: quotes, invoices, and marketing basics
• Certificate ceremony and celebration

All tuition, materials and equipment are included, plus light refreshments. We will have a one hour lunch break each day, there are lots of super gorgeous cafes in Wimborne where we are based or please feel free to bring a packed lunch.
